WHO:

Pharrell Williams — New Creative Director of Louis Vuitton

After Virgil Abloh passed away in November of 2021, the world awaited the future of Louis Vuitton. The brand recently announced that rapper and music producer, Pharell Williams, would be taking over as the new Men’s Creative Director. As part of a formal announcement, Louis Vuitton posted to their website: “The way in which he [Pharell] breaks boundaries across the various worlds he explores, aligns with Louis Vuitton’s status as a Cultural Maison, reinforcing its values of innovation, pioneer spirit, and entrepreneurship.” We look forward to experiencing this new chapter and seeing how the brand evolves under Williams’ influence.

Bella Hadid: Face of Charlotte Tilbury

Charlotte Tilbury recently announced her collaboration with model Bella Hadid, naming her the muse of the beauty company. The pair will work together on advertising campaigns and other digital content, and the partnership is already a hit! Tilbury introduced the collaboration on the brand’s website, announcing that “Bella truly understands the power of makeup and together we want to inspire everyone around the world to unlock confidence and make their beauty dreams come true!”

WHAT:

New York Fashion Week

  • Cynthia Rowley: Our stand-out show of the week was Cynthia Rowley, who ditched the traditional runway and instead, presented her designs in an hour-long stand-up comedy show featuring Claudia Oshry, Nikki Glaser, Esther Ku, and others. Each comedian wore a custom outfit meant to highlight their individual features and the show promoted fashion with a sense of humor.

  • Thom Browne: Thom Browne, known for his elaborate shows,  presented a dazzling runway inspired by the novella, “The Little Prince.” The set incorporated  a small airplane that sat in a pile of sand and a ceiling adorned with planets and stars. His avant garde designs featured mostly muted tones with pops of primary colors. It was a nostalgic masterpiece.
