Executive Board

Caitlin, Co-President of the Michigan Fashion Media Summit, holds a unique background in fashion and related fields with experience in marketing, media consulting, fashion PR, and fashion styling. She has held a longing desire to be part of the fast-paced industry since a young age and is motivated by her goal of providing the Michigan community with a platform that offers inspiration, education, and opportunity. Caitlin is a Senior majoring in Communications and is completing the Ross School of Business Sales & Marketing Track. She attended the London College of Fashion where she continued to explore creative disciplines. Caitlin is excited for the chance to build upon the organizations strong foundation and is committed to expanding the reach and impact of The MFMS.

Delaney, Chief Operating Officer, is currently a Junior pursuing a BA in Sociology and a minor in Writing. She possesses the proven skills, insight, and expertise to ensure the MFMS team’s success. As a Sales and Marketing intern for a boutique e-commerce agency. On campus, she is the Vice President of Social Responsibility for Alpha Epsilon Phi and an active member of the Sports Business Association. In addition, she served as Director of Summit Operations for the MFMS Event Planning Team last year. Growing up, Delaney was immersed in and inspired by the world of art and fashion. That experience combined with her passion for athletics and dedication as an avid sports fan perfectly positioned Delaney to study the intersection of fashion, sport and art. Delaney is excited to take on a leadership role this year, where she can use her creative, analytical and organizational skills to not only ensure the success of the Michigan Fashion Media Summit, but to continue to shape the future fabric of fashion on campus.

Abby Bass, Vice President of Partnerships, is a former professional model with NEXT Models Worldwide, where she was based in New York City. She has worked with designers such as Burberry, Hugo Boss, Chanel, and Calvin Klein, and walked in New York, Milan, Paris, London, and Sao Paulo Fashion Weeks. Now a Senior at the University of Michigan, Abby is studying Environment and Business, and she is passionate about the intersection of sustainable innovation, business strategy and fashion.

Ali is a senior majoring in Communications Studies and completing the Ross School of Business Sales and Marketing Track. Her past professional experiences include working at La Mer, Hill Holliday, and Kraft Sports Group. Ali's internships have exposed her to the luxury, beauty, and retail industries, and their crossover with digital marketing and influencer collaborations. On campus, Ali is a sister of Alpha Epsilon Phi, an on-campus ambassador for Team Impact, and a member of Outrage Dance Team.

Claire is a senior pursuing a BFA degree in art and design with a focus on graphic design and marketing minor. In her free time, Claire enjoys outdoor recreation and reading. Currently, she works as a designer for Auxiliary marketing creating graphics for University buildings and events. As creative director, Claire oversees and manages the creative team as well as works closely with other executive members to ensure branding and marketing consistency.

Sarah is a senior at Michigan double majoring in Political Science and French Studies, with a minor in the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. Sarah's love for fashion began at a young age, from creating and sewing her own designs, to going to New York Fashion Week each Fall and Spring. Sarah has interned for top fashion companies like Balenciaga, J.Mendel, and most recently, L'Oréal, where she will be working full time following graduation in New York City.

Hannah is Junior in the Ross School of Business planning a concentration in Strategy and Operations. She hopes to work for a consulting firm out of college and eventually transition to an internal strategy role with a major fashion company. She spent last summer working on the strategic redesign of a failing retail business acquired by her parents.

Marketing & Insights

Alisha is a Senior from Washington, D.C., pursuing her Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Marketing, and a minor in Community Action and Social Change. Her professional experiences range from Fashion and Media Public Relations at The Industry Group, NYC to Product Marketing Management at Google, where she will be returning full time in Fall 2019. These roles revealed her love for creating amazing aesthetics and experiences, and equipped her with necessary practice in establishing entrepreneur-like ownership over a project.

Anjali, a junior studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, is the MFMS 2018-2019 Director of Student Marketing. Anjali has experience in marketing and advertising working as an intern for Advertising Week this past summer in New York. Anjali became interested in fashion as a 12 year old when she subscribed to Teen Vogue, and has hoarded every issue ever since. Anjali is planning on going to Barcelona to study abroad next semester, and hopes to return to New York to work this summer.

Charley is a Senior majoring in Communications and receiving a certificate in Sales and Marketing from the Ross School of Business. Her previous professional experience within the fashion industry includes interning in the Retail Marketing Department at Theory, and most recently interning in the PR and Marketing Department at Sam Edelman. In these roles, she gained concrete knowledge on how marketing functions within the fashion industry, acquired leadership skills, and learned the value of working closely with and being extremely passionate about a product.

Emma is a sophomore studying at the Stamps School of Art and Design with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Her previous professional experience includes She has sought interning in the marketing department at RE/DONE Denim and the design deptartment at Matisse Footwear. Emma also worked this summer as a sales associate at a high end jewelry store focused on eliminating retail markup and bringing wholesale prices to consumers. On campus, she serves as the Merchandising and Public Relations Chair of Kappa Kappa Gamma. As the Michigan Student Marketing Manager, Emma is eager to find new ways to engage her peers in Michigan’s growing fashion community.

Juliette is a sophomore studying Communications through the LSA Honors Program and hopes to minor in Marketing through the Ross Cappo Sales Track. Juliette's previous professional experiences include marketing internships in New York City for Lokai and the Track Marketing Group. On campus, Juliette is a writer for the Michigan Daily, Her Campus, and Spoon University and is a social media strategist for the Tab, College Fashionista, and Spoon University. Juliette sees her role as the Press Relations manager for the MFMS as the perfect opportunity to combine her deep rooted love for fashion with her passion for communication and journalism.

Sanam Kamran is currently a sophomore studying Business and pursuing a minor in Performing Arts Management. Working at Relovv, a startup sustainable fashion company, this summer allowed Sanam to dive into the multi-faceted cross-section of fashion and business. There she was exposed to projects in marketing, outreach, account management, event planning, photography, closet curation, and more. On campus, Sanam is the Vice President of Fellowship for Delta Sigma Pi, a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, and a dancer and choreographer for Cadence Dance Company. She is eager to spread the MFMS beyond the campus borders, connecting students to the fashion and business industry.

Uma, a Sophomore Ross BBA, describes fashion as the ultimate bridge between her precision-oriented, mathematical mind and expression-seeking, creative persona. This summer, she explored her two selves as a business development intern at SMBX, a financial securities startup, and a marketing intern at Krupp Group, a fashion-based public relations firm. At Krupp Group, Uma helped initiate the 28 ROW subscription service product which she now continues to work for as a college influencer. Her past experiences have developed her love for operational processes, understanding of effective team work, and ability to target desired audiences or consumers -- three attributes she is eager to explore through the lens of fashion as an Industry Professional and Alumni Marketing Manager for the MFMS.

Caitlin, a freshman, is pursuing a degree in the Ross School of Business. Her previous professional experience includes interning for Paramount Pictures in the Field Marketing department. Caitlin was also a Nordstrom Ambassador Representative, where she and other selected members partnered with sales representatives to discuss industry trends and strategies. In addition, Caitlin is a College Fashionista Community Member, in which represents a digital community with industry experts in the fashion and digital media industries. She is now applying her skills to the Network Engagement Coordinator position.

Lal is a sophomore pursuing a dual degree in Art and Design, and Communications Studies with a History of Art minor. Her past professional experiences include working at Vogue and Elle Magazines. Lal's internships have exposed her to the fashion, luxury, beauty, and retail industries, and their crossover with digital marketing and creative planning. By creating her own two platforms, Tark Zine and Staa Collective, to create inclusive communities for young artists and creative thinkers, Lal is trying to combine her passions for creativity and art with social justice.

Creative

Brian, a Sophomore Ross BBA and Computer Science minor, serves as the Director of Technology for the MFMS after garnering experiences throughout the fashion and entertainment industry. In high school, he worked in multiple startups and local businesses including a YouTube network (BentPixels MCN) and screen printing business (Noreast Custom Apparel). He then started his own clothing line and merchandising company, Interlaced Intl. This year, after interning as a Business Analyst at The Kraft Group, Brian will be taking on a more strategic role as he uses his experience to help build a community for creative and fashion-interested individuals at Michigan. Andy, a Senior at the Stamps School of Art and Design, was exposed to photography at a very young age by her father who is a professional photographer. He taught her the anatomy of the camera, important rules of composition, and photo retouching essentials. Last year, she studied abroad at the London College of Fashion where she fell in love with creative direction, styling, and fashion photography. Andy continues to build her skills as the MFMS Director of Photography.

Grace, the Junior Photographer of MFMS, is a sophomore studying Art & Design and Women's studies at the University of Michigan.

Anna McClelland is a freshman at the University of Michigan planning to major in Sports Management. Previously, Anna worked at a children's clothing boutique in Fairway, Kansas. Additionally, Anna served as Design Editor of her high school newspaper for two years, which lead her to pursue graphic design in college. Anna also competed in the Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan category of DECA, in which she placed top ten at the International Career Development Conference. She is excited to put the skills she learned through DECA and newspaper to use in the fashion business industry by serving as Junior Graphic Designer on the MFMS Creative Team.

Branding

Elena Howes is currently a junior pursuing a BFA in Art and Design at the University of Michigan. She is a New York City based designer who specializes in graphic design, photography, and creative direction.

Lana, a senior majoring in Communications with a focus in Marketing, has sought out several forms of extracurricular experience on campus to gain knowledge of the two fields that interest her: fashion and marketing. Previously, Lana has interned at Theory as a Digital Marketing Intern and at the renowned advertising agency McCann Erickson.  On campus, Lana has immersed herself as a member of a professional business fraternity called Pi Sigma Epsilon, where she currently does consulting work with Bivouac, an on campus fashion destination. This year, Lana is the Director of Network Engagement, Campus and Social Media for the MFMS.

Amy is currently a Sophomore studying Communications. She joined MFMS last year as a freshman, where she was one of the primary writers that launched our blog, the Stitch. Her dream is to be a fashion journalist, specifically working at a hugely successful fashion publican such as Vogue. To prepare for this endeavor, she took multiple fashion and beauty journalism classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology. In addition to this, Amy has in interest in social media. This past summer, she interned at a startup beauty company where she ran their social media and designed creative marketing strategies. In her personal life, she has an Instagram fashion blog called rock it like roz. Her blog is where she expresses her creativity, passion for fashion, and communication skills. Amy is very excited to take on her role as the senior editor of the Stitch!

Izzy Mark is a sophomore planning to major in communications. Her passions include fashion, style, beauty, design, and writing. Last summer, Izzy had the opportunity to shadow the beauty and style editor of People magazine, where she focused on weekly issues, current style trends, and the latest fashion news. Additionally, Izzy is a serves as the apparel chair for Alpha Epsilon Phi. As the Social Media Manager of the Michigan Fashion Media Summit, Izzy is extremely excited to expand the MFMS social media network and to keep its followers up to date with the fashion world news, through posting on all channels.

Pilar, a Sophomore Ross BBA, gained professional experience in fashion while studying fashion merchandising at Parsons School of Design. While there, she explored the environment of a showroom, trend forecasting agency, PR company, and numerous clothing factories. Through these experiences, she gained the skills to construct a teck pack, cost sheet, product specifications, and a merchandising calendar. As the Junior Writer for The Stitch, Pilar will continue to expand upon her current knowledge of the industry, while helping build a platform for both current industry and MFMS news.

Courtney, a Freshman majoring in Political Science, is working as the Creative and Branding Coordinator on the MFMS team. Throughout her high school career, Courtney worked at a shoe store for multiple years, styling women’s outfits with accessories and exercising her love for fashion in the real world. As a member of the MFMS team this year, she is excited to apply her skills in various areas.

Event Planning & Operations

Jenna, a Junior majoring in Psychology and completing the Ross School of Business Cappo Sales Track, is the Director of Experiential Marketing for the MFMS. Growing up visiting her grandmother's showroom in Chicago, fashion became an inspiration for Jenna at a very young age. Her previous professional experience includes interning at AVENUE Magazine in NYC and Mighty Audio in Venice, CA. On campus, Jenna is on the executive board of the Runway of Dreams Foundation club (Michigan chapter), an organization that strives to create fashion opportunities for those with disabilities, as well as her sorority, Sigma Delta Tau, serving as VP of Recruitment. Jenna’s experience also includes creating and directing her high school’s inaugural fashion show fundraiser, coordinating its many details from model selection, to music, marketing and more. She is eager to be a part of The MFMS for its second year and cannot wait to contribute to the event's success.

Olivia is a Junior studying Communications and minoring in Sustainability, Art & Design, and Entrepreneurship. Her passion lies within sustainable/ethical fashion, as she hopes to pursue a career that intersects clothing production and the environment. As an intern for Bivouac and the School for Environment and Sustainability, she has been able to develop her expertise through working with brands like Patagonia and collaborating with leading researchers at the university. In her second year at MFMS, Olivia is thrilled to be a Director of Summit Operations. Her prior role as a Summit Experience Manager for MFMS has helped her acquire the important insight and branding to create a successful summit. She has expanded her leadership experience to Fashion Coordinator for Bronze Elegance Fashion, Finance Chair for Dance Mix, Executive Board Member for EnCore Dance Crew, Graphic Designer/ Co-Design Team Chair for Evolve Summit, and Co-Finance Lead for BLUElab Bangladesh. She’s excited to continue shaping the future of fashion at MFMS!

Katie Lowenbaum is a sophomore at the University of Michigan with an intended major of psychology and a minor in business. This is Katie's second year being a part of the MFMS and was previously a coordinator. On campus, Katie is a member of a professional business fraternity, Pi Sigma Epsilon, that focuses its efforts on Marketing, Advertising, and Sales. Last summer she completed a program through the Ross School of Business that looked the intersection of positive psychology, business, and organizational studies in order to create positive and efficient organizations. She also interned at Kehoe Designs in Chicago where she was able to shadow and learn about all different aspects of the event production industry.

Jack is a current Sophomore at the Steven M. Ross School of Business in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He is interested in studying Finance, with a potential concentration in Real Estate. His passions include commercial real estate, hospitality in business, branding, and the Formula 1 racing industry. Jack has developed a unique set of skills that will allow him to contribute to whatever organization he engages with, including The Michigan Fashion Media Summits' event planning team.

Olivia (Liv) Haller is a freshman at the University of Michigan. She is planning to major in communication and following the pre-law track. This past summer, she interned with Homestead Advisors, LLC in home staging, interior design, and organization. She also attended the Parson New School in Paris and studied Fashion Illustration and Design. In high school, Olivia created an independent study in fashion design during which she created original illustrations, attended numerous fashion exhibitions, and transformed historical fashions into modern designs. She is very interested in pursuing a career in fashion and the law. As the Event Planning & Operations Coordinator for MMFS, Olivia is responsible for managing aesthetics and assisting in the planning and execution for all event operations.

Mira Sanghvi, a senior majoring in Business with a minor in writing, serves as the RRC liaison. She hopes to continue to bring opportunities in the fashion world to business students through her work with MFMS. Mira has interned previously at JP Morgan Chase in their Private Bank. In the future, Mira hopes to work in finance or strategy at a creative company.

Partnerships

Kate is a junior majoring in Economics and this is her second year on the Partnerships Team for the MFMS. Outside of the MFMS, she is on the Finance Team for SHEI Magazine and is a peer mentor for the Society of Women in Economics. Kate aspires to merge her analytical abilities with passion for fashion and creativity on the strategic side of the retail industry.

Adya, a sophomore pursuing a BBA and Sustainability Minor, returns to the MFMS Partnerships team as an Account Executive. She has business experience as an Investing Intern at BRAVA Investments and a Marketing Specialist Intern at Cloudbees, Inc., a tech firm in Silicon Valley. She combines her passion for business and fashion through the MFMS and looks forward to the 2019 Summit!

Max Lederman is a junior pursuing a degree in communications with a minor in digital studies. Max is currently serving as the account manager on the partnerships team for the MFMS this year. Max's interest in fashion began early on as an avid explorer of his hometown, New York City. Max also recently interned for a luxury goods importer this past summer, specializing in operations, merchandising, and sales. When he's not working or playing tennis, you can find Max at almost any eatery in Ann Arbor.

Hannah Dienstag, currently a Freshman at the University of Michigan hoping to major in Data Science at the School of Information and to minor in business, is the Account Strategist for the MFMS. Previously, Hannah coordinated and planned a charity Fashion Show event at her high school, as well as held internships at both Merrill Lynch and Morning Brew Inc. She also participated in the Marketing Promotion Plan category of DECA, in which she scored in the top ten for her test score. On campus, Hannah is involved with Go Blue Wear Pink, and is a sister of Sigma Delta Tau. She is enthusiastic about the arising fashion opportunities at the University of Michigan and excited to take part in the MFMS and spread its influence on and outside of campus.

Finance

Grace Drettman is a member of the MFMS finance team, and is currently serving as the budget director.

Charlotte is a sophomore at the University of Michigan pursuing an Economics major and a minor in the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. On campus, Charlotte is an analyst for Michigan Interactive Investments and also works on a consulting team for her business fraternity, Pi Sigma Epsilon. This summer, Charlotte will be interning as a Corporate Banking summer analyst at Citigroup in New York City.

Samantha is a freshman in the Ross School of Business. She hopes to pursue a career in finance and one day work on Wall Street. On campus, Samantha is a member of the Michigan Business Woman Club and Kappa Kappa Gamma. Her past finance internship experience includes working at an international toy manufacturer and in the finance office of a major in vitro fertilization clinic.

Wendy is a senior at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business with a double major in History. Wendy has internship experience in a variety of finance roles from corporate finance to asset management, and is excited to be able to combine her passions for fashion and finance with the finance manager role at MFMS. On campus, Wendy is the president of Ross Retail Club and also serves as a peer mentor for freshman and sophomore Ross students as part of the BA 100 and 102 programs. She has also served on the Advertising and Outreach teams of SHEI Magazine.

Speakers

Remy's interests lay, but are not limited to, Nutrition and Dietetics; however, she has also been interested in fashion. Most notably, she is intrigued by the complex art of fashion, the messages fashion portrays, and how fashion promotes creativity. Remy is an active member of the Beta Delta Chapter Kappa Kappa Gamma at U of M. She has worked at two private nutrition practices: F-Factor Nutrition and Top Balance Nutrition in NYC. Additionally, she was a summer intern at Mount Sinai Beth Israel shadowing an RD on the Oncology floor. Her internship experience has allowed her to recognized the role of fashion in the world of Nutrition and Dietetics. As Remy furthers her professional experience she will continue to marry the two industries that she is incredibly passionate about.

Sophie is a Freshman at the University of Michigan in the Ross School of Business. She is also a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. Last summer, Sophie held an internship in NYC at a nonprofit called Year Up. In high school, Sophie was nominated for a Silver Knight Award for her tutoring program that she co-founded in her community. She also served as a photographer for the Type One Student Newspaper, and an editor, layout designer and photographer for the Crestian Yearbook, and a stage crew member for school musicals. Additionally, Sophie has a passion for sports and was the Boys' Varsity Baseball Manager throughout high school. Sophie is excited to utilize her diverse skill set and experience while working as the Speaker Logistics Coordinator at MFMS.
